I'm giving this one star not because it was incredibly awful but because it was utterly forgettable. I could not even give you a short summary of what happened or name more than one person (Simon, I remember Simon since there were about 100 "Simon says"'s in there). It had potential but then I started reading... This was a buddy read so I couldn't just drop it and on top of that it was my idea. Never let me choose buddy reads ever again!

I read this the wrong way. I should've read this like a religious/historical work instead of like a novel. Unfortunately I realized that too late, so I'm going to have to read it again sometime to be able to rate it.
